The Marietas Island, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, is a conservation protected sanctuary for several species of birds, nesting seabird colonies and hidden beaches and clear waters of this National Marine Sanctuary.
Marietas Islands are a series of barrier islands on the north entrance of the bay that provide a wonderful sanctuary for a great variety of marine life. There are over 80 species of birds that nest at the Marietas Islands including 30 rare species and one very rare species, The Blue Footed Booby Bird.
The famous Love Beach or Hidden Beach in Marietas is in Islas Marietas a National Park in the state of Nayarit, Mexico, has a total area of 1,383 hectares. This archipelago formed from volcanic origins is made up of two islands and two islets and is unique in the world, since the best way to appreciate it is from the air.
The interior of the island can only be reached by swimming with its respective snorkeling equipment and life jacket, when reach the island you will notice a real energy in this magical and paradisiacal and crystalline waters. The Islas Marietas National Park has a total area of 1,383 hectares, the two islands and the two islets have an area of 78 hectares made up of the Isla Redonda and the Large Island “Los Morros”. To get to the park Las Marietas you can leave from Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, Punta Mita or from the southern zone of Puerto Vallarta.
