Ocotlan, Oaxaca – City where Ex- Convento Santo Domingo was built

It is a very interesting city where the Temple and the ex-convent of Santo Domingo de Guzman was built at the end of the XVI century and recently restored by the painter Rodolfo Morales.

Its main attraction is the market day where every friday is known as one of the largest and most interesting of the central valleys, this tradition of tianguis or markets in the state of Oaxaca arises from pre-Hispanic times and since then has served for people to meet and exchange products.

Visitors can find a great variety of gastronomy, textiles, alebrijes, handicrafts such as red clay pottery, baskets, cutlery, leather goods, hats, wooden figures, traditional beverages such as mezcal, tea, chocolate, among others.
