Hierve el Agua, Oaxaca, an amazing pool on the top of the mountains

It is one of the main tourist treasures of Mexico and a natural wonder with unique characteristics in the continent.

It used to be a sacred place for the Zapotecs due to its great natural contrasts located in the heart of the mountains. In turn, 2,500 years ago a complex irrigation system was built, unique in its kind, which was oriented to take maximum advantage of the water from the springs of its steep slopes.

It is a touristic site where you can swim with warm water fluctuating between 25 degrees Celsius and is formed in a circular path with 2, 6 kilometers with rock formations and whose appearance is that of two impressive petrified waterfalls formed by the runoff of carbonated water from its springs located at the top of these plateaus, the water is projected on these formations, creating new layers of rock that are projected into a ravine of more than 50 meters high.
