Tilcajete, Oaxaca and its artisans
Tilcajete artisans are dedicated to wood crafts and elaboration of the famous “Alebrijes” The name “Tilcajete” is composed of “Til”, meaning “cochineal ink”; and “Cajete”, meaning a mound of surrounding stones at the source of water from a waterwheel.
