Their visit obeys the animas of the deceased, which are attracted through their old belongings, favorite foods, or drinks, as well as their love for their loved ones. In their offerings are also placed sweets and seasonal foods such as black mole, Oaxacan sweets, canned pumpkin, Dead bread, mezcal, as well as copal and incense producing characteristic smells of the celebration that once burned are very representative used in the offerings since pre-Hispanic times as tributes to their deities.

Thus, the faithful departed are welcomed at this time. And that according to popular belief they would come to visit them on that day to enjoy and savor on that day.

Oaxaca is a great visual attraction and spectacle on the Days of the Dead

Its streets, squares and cemeteries in general are decorated with more than 2,000 candles and beautiful ornaments on the tombs as a sign of their love for their deceased. It shows us a great mixture of tradition, worship, magic and history with these altars both in their homes and on the graves of their deceased in the cemeteries.
