General Information

Villa de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de las Aguas Calientes is the original name that the Spanish conquistadors gave to this place that like others was land of indigenous cultures, mainly of the Chichimecas. The name Aguascalientes is due to the abundance of existing hot springs in the area. Aguascalientes is a city in the central area of Mexico, recognized for its colonial constructions of its historic downtown that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, for its bravado bullfights (now prohibited), excellent wines, good climate and hospitable people.
